Fly Control

Here at the Allington  hereford ranch summer hot weather has arrived along with flying insects. There are several species of flies like to live on cattle and gain their energy by sucking blood from the larger animals that are in the pastures. We use a mixture of diesel fuel and insecticide applied with the use a back rubber to get the treatment on the hair of the livestock to help control the fly population. This helps make the animals more  at ease and also decrease the loss of prodution of milk and limit the total of the new generation of flies. We have to recharge the back rubbers weekly to stay on top of this whole process.
