Beef cattle cross-breeding

Here at the allington hereford farm, we have embarked on a new cross breeding program using our basic herd of hereford cows and using an Irish Black bull. Ths new breed was derived from two breeds. A breed known as freisan was crossed with out standing angus bulls. We have been using straight angus bulls in our cross breeding program for a few years. We have established a good interest in our cross bred yearly replacement quality heifers that we sell every year. This introduction of the freisan blood line should increase the milk production capacity of these replacement females for there new owners which will increase the weining weights of the offspring of these heifers that come from this new beef cross. Thanks Dave Allington
